What is the difference between an available and a transferable domain name?

As a domain name registrar, we notice that "available domain name" and "transferable domain name" are sometimes confused during the ordering process on our domain name page.

What do these terms mean? Find the answer in this article.

Available domain name

When a domain name is available for registration, we simply show it as (available).
This means that nobody has registered this domain name yet. You can go ahead with your purchase. Your order will be set up within 2 hours: the registration request will be submitted and your domain name will be active within 24 hours.

Transferable domain name

Conversely, when a domain name is unavailable for registration, it will never be shown as "unavailable" but as (transferable)!
This means that the domain name has already been registered by someone else, and that its owner is free to change registrar by transferring the domain name.
If the domain name belongs to you and you would like to transfer it to HaiSoft, you will need the domain name's transfer code (auth code) before placing your order, and must send it to us so that we can transfer your domain as quickly as possible.
