What is shared web hosting?
Shared hosting is space on a web server shared between several customers: your website’s files, its MySQL databases and its PHP scripts are stored and run on a server that HaiSoft manages for you. Because the cost of the server is shared, it is the most affordable way to put a website online, with no system administration skills required.
HaiSoft shared web hosting is particularly suited to:
- showcase websites for businesses, tradespeople, independent professionals and non-profit organisations;
- blogs and online portfolios;
- small online shops that are just starting out;
- agencies and webmasters who manage several small websites (Multisite plan, up to 30 sites).

What is included in every plan
- the Plesk control panel, one click away from your customer area;
- more than 200 one-click applications, including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and PrestaShop;
- a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate for your domains and subdomains, so your website runs on HTTPS;
- your choice of PHP version, site by site, and MySQL databases with phpMyAdmin;
- FTP and FTPS (encrypted FTP) access to your files;
- DNSSEC protection for your domain’s DNS;
- a daily backup of your hosting, kept for at least 1 month, with 1 free restore per week;
- full server management: installation, updates, security and monitoring are handled by our technicians;
- technical support by ticket 7 days a week from your customer area.
Managing your website with the Plesk control panel
Plesk is the interface that runs your hosting. Without any command line, you can:
- install a CMS in one click and keep it up to date, with WordPress Toolkit for WordPress sites;
- create your databases, FTP accounts and subdomains;
- choose the PHP version of each site in “PHP Settings”;
- issue and renew your Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates;
- set up redirects and view your website’s traffic statistics;
- manage the email addresses on your domain.

Keeping your website secure
HaiSoft shared servers are protected by network and application firewalls and by Fail2Ban, an anti-brute-force tool that blocks the IP addresses of bots trying to guess your passwords (FTP, Plesk, webmail, WordPress…). To protect the servers’ reputation, the PHP mail() function is disabled: your website’s emails are sent via authenticated SMTP and relayed through MailChannels, which improves their deliverability. A website’s security also depends on how well it is maintained: keep your CMS, its plugins and its PHP version up to date, and choose strong passwords. PHP versions and technical limits
HaiSoft lets you choose the PHP version of each site from Plesk, among the versions installed on the server; new PHP versions are added soon after their release. We recommend using the most recent version compatible with your website and checking it at least every 6 months: a recent version is faster and receives security fixes.
The memory available to PHP (memory_limit) is 128 MB with Essentiel and 256 MB with Pro and Multisite; the maximum execution time of a script is 90 seconds with Essentiel and 120 seconds with Pro and Multisite.
Domain name and email addresses
A .fr, .be or .eu domain name is included with every plan, and its DNS zone is managed by HaiSoft. You can also register another domain name. For professional email addresses on your own domain name, discover our email plans, from €0.99 excl. VAT/month.
