A .fr, .be or .eu domain name is included with every shared web hosting plan. Other extensions (.net, .org, .de, .es, .ch, .lu, .nl…) and sector-specific names are offered in the search results.
The .fr is the national extension for France, managed by Afnic (Association française pour le nommage Internet en coopération), the body appointed by the French State. HaiSoft is an Afnic-accredited registrar.
It is the natural choice for a business, association or professional whose customers are in France: it signals a local presence, builds trust with users and protects your name from competitors. A business operating in France should register its name as a .fr before any other extension. Registration of a .fr is open to individuals resident and businesses established in the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein.

The .be is the extension for Belgium, managed by DNS Belgium. It is aimed at Belgian businesses and at any business selling in Belgium or targeting Belgian users, whether French- or Dutch-speaking. Anyone can register a .be, with no residency requirement. HaiSoft, whose support team can be reached in Belgium on +32 4 268 03 73, works with many Belgian customers.
The .eu is the extension of the European Union, managed by EURid. It suits businesses that sell in several European countries and want a single address recognised throughout the Union, or that want to protect their brand across Europe. It can be registered by EU citizens, wherever they live, as well as by residents and organisations established in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.
The .co.uk and .uk extensions are managed by Nominet, the UK registry. The .co.uk remains the extension best known to British users for commercial websites; the shorter .uk has been available since 2014. To sell in the UK or protect your brand there, register your name in these extensions: they are open to everyone, with no residency requirement. .co.uk and .uk names are registered for 2 years (€12.99 excl. VAT).
The .com, short for “commercial”, is the most widely used generic extension in the world; its registry is Verisign, under the authority of ICANN. It is open to everyone, without restriction. It suits websites with an international reach, and is often registered alongside a country extension to protect your brand and stop a competitor from using it. Sector-specific domain names are .fr extensions reserved for members of a profession: a law firm can use dupont.avocat.fr, a notary’s office martin.notaires.fr or a dental practice cabinet-durand.chirurgiens-dentistes.fr. These extensions are managed by Smallregistry, in conjunction with the representative bodies of each profession. HaiSoft has many customers in these professions and registers these names for them.
| Extension | Profession |
|---|---|
| .avocat.fr | Lawyers |
| .notaires.fr | Notaries |
| .chirurgiens-dentistes.fr | Dental surgeons |
| .medecin.fr | Doctors |
| .veterinaire.fr | Vets |
| .experts-comptables.fr | Chartered accountants |
| .geometre-expert.fr | Chartered surveyors |
| .chambagri.fr | Chambers of agriculture |
| .aeroport.fr | Airports |
Why a sector-specific name? It immediately tells your patients or clients that you are a recognised professional, it is harder to impersonate than an unrestricted name, and it gives you instantly identifiable email addresses (contact@dupont.avocat.fr). Registration is restricted to members of the profession, who must meet the conditions of the extension’s naming charter. A sector-specific name costs €19.99 excl. VAT/year.

Enter the name you want in the search form and choose the extension. If the name is available, add it to your basket, with or without email and hosting, then fill in the registrant details and pay for your order. The domain name is usually active within 24 hours.
A .fr, .be or .eu domain name costs €12.99 excl. VAT/year, a .com €21.99 excl. VAT/year, a .co.uk €12.99 excl. VAT for 2 years and a sector-specific name (.avocat.fr, .notaires.fr…) €19.99 excl. VAT/year. A .fr, .be or .eu domain is included with every shared web hosting plan.
Start with the extension of the country where your customers are: .co.uk for the United Kingdom, .be for Belgium, .fr for France. Add the .com for an international presence and the .eu for Europe, and to protect your brand in these extensions.
The .fr is open to individuals resident and businesses or associations established in the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein. The chosen name must not infringe the rights of a third party (trademark, person’s name, municipality name).
These sector-specific domain names are reserved for members of the profession concerned, who must meet the conditions of the extension’s naming charter. Search for your name in the form: sector-specific extensions are listed in the “Sector-specific” tab of the results. Then order it and HaiSoft will take care of the registration.
Every HaiSoft domain name includes DNS management (on our servers or yours), 1 email address with 100 MB of storage, email forwarding, web redirection, whois management and automatic renewal.
Ask your current registrar for the transfer code (AuthInfo), then order the transfer from HaiSoft, entering this code. Recreate your current DNS zone at HaiSoft so that your website and email keep working; our technicians can do this for you. For a .fr, the transfer completes within 8 working days at the latest.
HaiSoft automatically renews your domain names on their expiry date and lets you know if the renewal could not be completed. An expired domain name that is not renewed is deleted and can then be registered by anyone; for a .fr, you have 30 days after expiry to recover it.
For individuals, the registrant’s contact details are hidden in the whois directory. For a business or association, the name of the registrant organisation may be published, depending on the registry’s rules.
Yes. From your domain’s DNS zone, you can point your website, your email or a subdomain to any server, or use your own DNS servers.
