SSDs for everyone: we've done it too!
First of all, what is an SSD?
SSD stands for Solid State Drive. It is a storage device similar to a hard drive, but far more reliable and much faster. SSDs use flash memory (chips rather like those in USB sticks or SD cards), which gives them near-instant boot and loading times – unlike hard drives, which have to seek data mechanically on a spinning platter.

Our shared hosting used to run on servers fitted with hard drives.
We began migrating to SSDs a little over a year ago, and the last two remaining servers switched to SSD during August!
The result is a considerable speed boost on these servers, both when loading web pages and when using the Plesk control panel.
We have also updated our dedicated and virtual server plans, which now come with SSDs too!

Fed up with hard drives? Looking for speed and reliability?
Feel free to contact our sales team to move your server to SSD if it isn't already!
